Two weeks ago I received these sweet looking Reebok ZPump Fusion shoes through my ambassadorship with GoodLife Fitness to review. I was pretty stokked and couldn’t wait to try them. What makes these shoes unique is that they “pump” up to create a locked-in custom fit.
The Pump technology is an air-filled cage that pumps up and molds to any runners foot for a locked-in custom fit. The shoes feature a lightweight fusion sleeve and seamless compression sleeve that fuses with The Pump technology for a lightweight, breathable shoe. They feel snug and light on my feet, like a speed training shoe should.
For speed work these shoes are great, but I didn’t find them supportive enough for a super long, slow Sunday run. I pronate and wear custom orthotics in my shoes so I didn’t try wearing them for one of my long runs. That said, the pump definitely made the shoes fit snugger around my ankles. They are very comfortable once on and I love the control of using the pump to get a good fit and the ease of releasing the air if I put in too much.
See how it works:
Besides the custom fit, these shoes are very light and have a midsole drop of 10mm. I found them to be pretty darn cute too, and who doesn’t love a cute shoe?
Overall, the sock sleeve made these shoes feel super comfy like a slipper, and I liked how the treads grip the ground. They were great for speed work and tempo runs, but lacked the support that I need for longer distance runs which was unfortunate because I really like the look of these shoes. The pump technology reminds me so much of my younger days, it was so nice of Reebok to introduce it in a pair of shoes for runners!
Question: Have you ever tried a pair of Reebok ZPump Shoes? What did you think of them?
