Meet the Newset Member of the NetFlix #StreamTeam

A few weeks ago I received an email that totally made my day. It was a request to join the NetFlix Stream Team.  Me?  Wow! Yes oh yes!

It’s no secret, our family LOVES NetFlix.  We’ve been proud customers for two years now, slowly adding more and more devices to stream to into our collection. Did you know that you can stream from an XBox?  A Wii?  iPads? iPhones? and even Android devices!  NetFlix on our phones is how we keep little Miss Amber busy at the arena while her sisters are playing hockey – her favourite show is Team Umizoomi.

Friday nights are family movie night. Movies that we stream from NetFlix.  The other week we watched  Enchanted – a story about a fairytale princess who is sent to our world by an evil queen, starring Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, and James Marsden. And a few weeks ago we cuddled up together to watch Happy Feet – we were happy to hear that Happy Feet Two is being released on NetFlix this month!

Although I’m into fitness, I’m also very much into enjoying some “Me time” as well. My favourite shows are all shows that I’ve watched through NetFlix because I can binge watch them while folding laundry, or even while drafting blog posts (I use a split screen, a habit that I’ve gotten into at work).  My favourite shows are:

  •  The Big C – About a suburban mother who faces her cancer diagnosis while trying to find humor and happiness as well, starring Laura Linney.
  • Orange is the New Black – The story of Piper Chapman, a woman in her thirties who is sentenced to fifteen months in prison after being convicted of a decade-old crime of transporting money for her drug-dealing girlfriend, (waiting until June 6th for the next season seems like an eternity!!), starring Taylor Schilling and Jason Biggs,
  • Mad Men – A drama about one of New York’s most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm’s most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper, played by Jon Hamm.

And now I just started watching….

House of Cards

House of Cards – A show about a Congressman who works with his equally conniving wife to exact revenge on the people who betrayed him, starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.  I watched the first episode last night while typing this post and am now completely hooked!

I’m really looking forward to my relationship with NetFlix over this next year and sharing with you reviews of shows and movies that we’ve watched.

Now it’s your turn…
Are you a NetFlix customer?
Do you stream TV shows and movies?
What is your favourite movie or TV show to binge watch?

Disclosure: I am a NetFlix Stream Team member however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

All the best in health and fitness,

Netflix has been great for when we want Shark Boy to be quietly entertained without turning on the TV screen (where the Lightning Kid will walk in front, turn off the screen or cause other problems). We don’t let the kids watch much TV, but it’s nice to have something on demand for small doses. I also like propping my iPad on the aero-bars when I’m on the bike trainer; Futurama has been great, but I want to try doing intervals using the action scenes from a show like 24 or something.

I LOVE House of Cards, but the problem is that everyone but me binge watches, so they tend to spoil episodes I haven’t watched yet. With my schedule, not only do I not binge watch, I sometimes have to break up single episodes into different viewing sessions…
