It’s been a really busy weekend, which followed a really busy week both at home and at work, so I don’t have much to say. Workout wise it was awesome! Food-wise? no-so-much. Hence why I’m going back to the basics of logging my meals in a food journal, and I’ve joined MyFitnessPal.
MyFitnessPal is an awesome tool for keeping both a food and an exercise log. I especially like that I can use my phone to scan barcodes on packaged foods to accurately record the calories, carbs, protein and sugar etc from the foods I eat (or am contemplating eating).
It’s been a HUGE eye-opener for me.
I apparently eat a lot of junk – I haven’t been eating nearly as healthy as I thought I was, and it’s very clear from my first day of logging my food why I haven’t been able to get the muscle tone I’ve been striving for…. As I’ve said before: You can’t out-train a bad diet.
Yet I forget that – a lot. Without writing down what I was eating I was way under estimating how much crap I was eating, and over estimating how much good stuff I was eating (apparently a salad at lunch is not enough to say you’re healthy). That’s all gonna change (I hope) with the help of YOU and MyFitnessPal – you’ll join me and help me, right?
