This is my Mamavation Monday post for Monday, April 5, 2010.
I have no idea what I weigh. I couldn’t tell you if I’ve been gaining or losing. Yanno why? Because quite honestly I could careless. Part of my goal for this year was to begin feeling better about myself, so I created a half-marathon training plan and decided to go for it. Running makes me happy. Last night I stayed up late and scoured through all of the Sports Stats and Champion Chip race results to find (and make a table of) all of my race results. You know what I noticed? All of the times in my life I remember feeling good about myself, being happy and living life in the moment, I raced alot. With alot of racing came alot of training. I don’t really know why I strayed from my running. But it doesn’t matter. What matters is I’m back – and I’m very happy.
Yesterday was the Harry’s Spring Run-Off 5K that I wrote about in my post last week. I dragged the kids to the race with me, and had my friend watch them while I ran (therefore no pictures). I said that I wanted to train easy this week to prepare for the race so I could run as fast as I could – and I did! Check it out:
I finished 7th in my age group!! I also set a personal best! My finishing time was 25:26. When I returned to running this January in my personal Happiness Project, I never expected that hard work, proper nutrition, rest etc would get me here! The last 5K’s I ran were 6+yrs ago, so to beat times I posted when I was under 30 is fantastic! Yay!
