Monday Tuesday everyone!
As you can tell from the title of this post, and how late I’ve published this, I am on VACATION!!! Yay! Hubby and I dropped the kiddos off at his parents place for 4 days while we sneak away to “our place”… Saratoga Springs, New York. You may remember that last year we came to Saratoga Springs, NY, then headed up to Lake Placid. We had a great time and absolutely loved the City so we decided to come down again this year.
One of my challenges while being away is staying active – it would be easier if my hubby was active with me, but when I want to move, he wants to nap. We fight fatigue in different ways. Last year we stayed in a Bed and Breakfast, so being active meant that I would head out for a run while he either napped, or relaxed on the porch of the B&B with his ipad. I did some body weight strength in our room, but it was tiny and hot. This year we are staying at a Comfort Inn with a gym! I love challenging my creativity to figure out a strength workout with equipment that I’m unfamiliar with, perhaps I’m just weird that way?
Here’s this week’s fitness plan:
Monday (yesterday) : (yesterday) Jog from Saratoga Racecourse (Thoroughbred track) to Saratoga Casino and Raceway (Harness track), then run the Monday Night Mile, then jog back to meet hubby (i’ll share my race recap shortly).
Tuesday (today): Lots of walking while we shop, shop, shop. It’s a dark day at the track (no racing) so we’re going shopping. In the afternoon I’m going to get familiar with the LifeFitness cables at the hotel gym.
Wednesday: Get my arse out of bed for a quick 8k run to explore the vicinity of the hotel.
Thursday: Last day in Saratoga – strength workout at the hotel gym before heading to breakfast at the track, then driving back to get the kids.
Friday: 5k run around my in-laws neighbourhood.
Saturday: Early morning 10k run before my daughter’s softball team playsin the Provincial championships.
Sunday: Strength workout in the hotel gym – we’re staying overnight for Provincials.
I’m sorry this post is so short (and late) but hubby is now itching to head out for breakfast and shopping. Have a great week everyone!!
