This is my Mamavation post for Monday, September 6, 2010.
Hey everyone!
How was your week last week? Did your drink your water? Get your beauty sleep? And eat your 7-8 servings of fruits and veggies? (Remember: fruit and veggies are chock full of fiber!).My week was great – work was super busy, but I still took my lunch hour to exercise because it always helps me to feel less stressed out and better able to focus on my work. I packed my lunches, planned our family dinners etc… Unfortunately I didn’t get in as much walking as I would have liked due to work, a midwife appointment, solo-parenting and visits by out-of-town guests. But alas – that only makes for one baddish week and I’m now at 443km in my 500km by birth goal (still 7-9 weeks to go!).
So here’s a summary of what I accomplished:
Monday: Worked out with my awesome trainer at lunch.
Tuesday: Couldn’t workout at lunch because I was conducting an all day site visit for a tender I’ve issued at work.
Wednesday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout
Thursday: No workout because I had to use my lunch for my midwife appointment.
Friday: Worked out with my awesome trainer at lunch.
Saturday: Walked 2k with my dog – we would have walked further but the clouds and rain opened up on us.
Sunday: Do my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout Had unexpected out of town guests, so i spent an hour running around to clean the house before they arrived.
This week I’m off work and staycationing with my family. Apparently I won’t be online much this week… because as I type this my 5 yo, Sierra, is begging to use my laptop to play Starfall.com. I apologize in advance for that. I’ve loaded the house up with healthy, nutritious snacks and food, so I hope that I can resist my hubby’s urging to eat fast food. Being active could also be a challenge – I tend to be an all-or-nothing gal but I got my new EAS Active More Workouts from being last week’s Sista of The Week, so I hope I can kick my hubby off of his TV long enough for me to get a workout or three in.
Congrats to this week’s Sista of the Week: @gretablau from the blog “Middle Aged Jock” (I LOVE her blog name!!). This week’s blogging carnival is sponsored by Chefs Requsted. Chefs Requested is an official sponsor of the Mamavation campaign and sends their perfectly portioned steaks to the Mamavation Moms.
Have a great week everyone!!

One sort of bad week? So far, you’ve rocked this pregnancy, Janice! So proud of the way you push yourself, yet are smart about taking care of you and baby. This baby is definitely going to come out running!
(Chick-Fil-A is a fast food chicken restaurant. They have great PR and lots of loyal customers. They do have healthy choices too!)

Oh pack some snacks or something but that fast food it just awful for you. Unless of course it’s chik-fil-a rofl…

What’s chik-fil-a? I don’t think we have those in Canada, but I bet I’d be in trouble if we did!
I hope you have a great week off this week! I’m glad to hear that your last week was great, and I hope this week is even better! Don’t you hate that last minute house clean up for surprise guests? LOL I had one of those last weekend too.
Love the guests, just not the cleaning!

You are the only mama-to-be I know that has taken such good care of herself with eating and exercising. Keep up the great work and enjoy your vacation. Can’t wait to meet the new little one.

Thanks Ivette! I overheard my hubby bragging about me to his best friend on the phone tonight – it was awesome to hear
Have fun on your staycation! Thanks for being such a positive part of this group. I’d love some pointers on how to “start” running… I’ve always struggled with this and I’d love to do an actual 5K or something.

Thanks for the tip, sometimes I do become consumed with trying to get in 30minutes that I forget that ANYthing helps. Just have to be more consistent.
I also need to bring my lunches this week. Last week I didnt but I did eat salads instead of Qdoba and pizza.
Best wishes to you this week!

Although you didnt’ get in as much walking as you wanted, it still looks like you were fairly active during the week!

Oh I hope so… Right now we’re doing Starfall.com together while I watch Oprah
BTW – Sierra said to me today “You don’t need to go outside to exercise, you get enough exercise doing your 10-second tidy”. Kids say the darndest things!
LOL!! I can only imagne what’s going to come out of Aiden’s mouth when he learns to talk.
