This is my Mamavation post for Monday, June 28, 2010.
Hey everyone!
How was your week? Did you find 30 min to Choose You 5 times last week? Did you eat those fruits and veggies and drink your water?
This week was pretty good for me… Until the weekend hit – oh man I was Bad with a capital “B”. Yes – even I’m not perfect! I ate a ridiculous number of left-over cupcakes and pieces of cake from my daughter’s 5th birthday party Saturday and I didn’t do any of my planned activity. Arrgh – I’m so disgusted in myself – fortunately I’m back to work tomorrow and back to my routine!

Making Fruit Kebob’s at Sierra’s 5th Birthday (Sierra is wearing the red dress in the middle).
Despite my weekend #fail, the rest of last week was awesome! I worked out with my personal trainer on Monday, and ran 15K over the week (5k on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)- my biggest mileage week since early April! Woot! I drank tons of water and stuck to the lunches I packed. That’s what I love about work – the routine! On Wednesday I had my 20 week Ultrasound – baby is growing well and is actually the right size for it’s gestational age (my last two were always small for gestational age). Baby had legs crossed and wasn’t sharing it’s gender which is fine by us because we didn’t want to find out anyways. The one issue is that baby is in a breech position – my second was like that too but turned on her own about a week before her birth. I did all sorts of crazy acrobatics to get her to turn, so I guess I’m an old pro at it. after two healthy, natural childbirths, I’m ok with whatever this one throws my way, it’s not like I’m planning to have anymore after this.
Next week will be a weird one – Thursday is Canada Day (like a Canadian version of the 4th of July), so I’ll have that off of work, then back to work on Friday, and then off for the weekend. Because of that little hiccup my workout plan is:
Monday: Work out with my awesome trainer at lunch
Tuesday: 5K walk/run around the park on my lunch
Wednesday: Work out with my awesome trainer at lunch
Thursday: Rest day/Hangout with the family – swim in the pool if it’s warm enough
Friday: 5K walk/run around the park on my lunch
Saturday: 5K walk/run around my neighbourhood (not spelt wrong – that’s how we spell it in Canada
)
Sunday: Rest day/house work day.
Oh and I also plan to NOT eat anymore of the cake!
How was your week? Did you accomplish your goals? Have you set your goals for next week? What are they?
PS – Congrats to Jess (aka @all_about_savin) for being this week’s Mamavation Sista of The Week.

So you are human lol….. you have bad days too huh? LOL just teasing
I wish I had even thought about doing what all you do while pregnant… I did not do it nor think about it! Your an inspiration

You are doing great for being pregnant! You are doing more pregnant than I’ve ever done in my almost 30 years of life! Congrats on that. You’re allowed to have an off day here and there. We’re all human. Nobody is perfect.
Congrats on your successes! Glad to hear baby is growing well!

You’re an inspiration, hun! I wish I could have accomplished half that when I was pregnant! And don’t forget…everybody needs a little cake now and then! hehe
I also say kudos to your natural childbirths and good luck with the next one – I’m a natural childbirth advocate and have written about it some. Nice to “meet” you!

You’re such a great role model for any pregnant woman wanting to be healthy! A little cake isn’t bad, but man is that stuff good!! Step away…better yet, throw it away!

A fitness cheerleader that makes a mistake once in a blue moon? I APPROVE! If you were perfect, you wouldn’t be very fun…fun people are not perfect. But yea for showing that when you fall off the wagon you get right back on. Thanks for the tip about fruit kebobs – I think my kids will have a lot of fun with those.
My goals? Yes. I’ve been meeting them. It took me a few days to eat enough (I am not a Porche, I cannot go 0-60 in 2.3 seconds LOL) but Sunday I finally did it and there are snacks in my fridge and I know what lunch is going to be and I’ll be eating every two hours today again, spreading out those calories. Whew.
Have a great week!!

I did not choose me 5 times last week, so thank you for the reminder. and wow on the 15K for the week, given your being 20 weeks! And hey, every preggo gal deserves a cupcake (or 5?) every once in a while!
You are my inspiration! I have to say that I love that you had the kids making fruit kabobs. So many parties are full of sugar and salt and junk and that’s before you get to the cake. You demonstrated a healthy food choice and made it fun!
Don’t worry about the slip up. My daily diet consisted of chocolate bars and Pepsi slurpees while I was preggo (and I wonder why I birthed a 10 pound meatball?!). Like you said, Monday is back to routine. What’s done is done, all you can do is look ahead and get back on track!
YAY FOR NATURAL CHILDBIRTH! I’m a labor doula, so I had the throw that in there!
I’m actually on call these next two weeks for two births!
You. Are. Fantastic. #fail or not, you’re doing great!!
I think it’s so fun to not know the baby’s gender. I love it when my clients do that! If we have another, we’ll do the same.
Have a great week, girl!
Mwah!

Ha; for you it was cake . . .for me it was BREAD. I could NOT seem to step away from it.
I am still in awe of how active you are TWENTY WEEKS! Wow, wow, wow, wow. Makes my pelvis hurt just to THINK about running at that stage!
Btw, I loved your “Monster at the End of This Book” allusion in your link up . . . my FAVORITE book as a kid!

MM….fruit kebabs…
Man, when I was pregnant, my weakness was cheesecake. I guess you’ve helped me realize another reason why I want to become a mamavation mom. If I got pregnant now, I’d be too close to 300lbs for comfort…and that is a very scary thought.
hey… since you’re pregnant. Any interest in cloth diapers? LOL.
girl your awesome!!! first of all… you’re preggo! Enjoy it every once in awhile right? oopps… am i not suppose to say that? hehe …and running 15k over the weekend! WOW! You’re my preggo partner HERO!
