Mamavation Monday

How was your week? My week was pretty good - I was motivated for most of the week, but found the lack of routine on the weekend hard to overcome, which may have had something to do with the rain... Rain that we desperately needed! My eating was ok, but I bet I could make a better effort to get my fruits & veggies in. This is my Mamavation post for Monday, August 23, 2010.

Mamavation Monday

How was your week? My week was pretty good – I was motivated for most of the week, but found the lack of routine on the weekend hard to overcome, which may have had something to do with the rain… Rain that we desperately needed! My eating was ok, but I bet I could make a better effort to get my fruits & veggies in. Oh! and my midwife called – my fatigue is due to low iron (again!). So I’m now on a double dose of SpaTone. I must say that it’s been helping – Yay! (Something to consider if you’re feeling run down).

This week I only logged 8km of walking towards my 500 by birth goal, which means I’m at now 429 KM.

Monday: Worked out with my awesome trainer at lunch.
Tuesday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout – my arms were killing me the next morning! (walked 4k)Ran 5k.
Wednesday: Worked out with my awesome trainer at lunch.
Thursday: No workout because I had a prenatal massage!
Friday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout – my arms were killing me on Saturday morning! (walked 4k)
Saturday: Rest day.
Sunday: Rest day.

Next week I hope to workout twice with my personal trainer and do 3-4 walks. I’ll also start week # 1 of the Inner Mean Girl Cleanse – it’s a 6 week cleanse/coaching program designed to help think more positively – I’m really looking forward to it, and would love for you to join me in it.

    • Thanks Karla! Though I’m going to need some help from all of my Sista’s once I’m on maternity leave, I find working out much harder at home. Are ya up for the challenge?

  6. I wish I had you nearby for my next pregnancy. You could coach me through being fit while pregnant. I did poorly when I was preggers with my DD. I gained 40 lbs or so, which isn’t bad, but my nutrition was terrible. I ate whatever, never exercised…and yeah. With a person like you around, a person just wants to do better. KWIM?

    You are doing awesome Janice. I am glad iron was the solution to your fatigue. Do your best to get those freggies in. If flailing remember that this weather will not be around year-round, take advantage now while everything is fresh and local (like in your yard local).

  12. The weather is such a motivating factor! I did so much more this week as it was cooler, less humid and less rainy here than its been all summer. I can definitely understand it throwing you off schedule. Hope the extra iron helps you get some more energy too!

  13. Thanks for the tip about low iron… I ALWAYS forget about my iron levels… I am typically low, so I am going to take some extra for a while… I have been feeling completely exhausted lately and I bet that is playing a BIG part!

  14. You’re just about the coolest person I know. You’ll get to that 500k goal! Just think of the walking you’ll be doing in early labour :)

    Oh yay for prenatal massage. I had such bad sciatica, that’s the only thing that saved me, take full advantage of it, it’s so wonderful!

    I seriously hope we can run together in the Spring! I’m really, really excited to get yer W&T MP3 too. Like…super duper :)

  19. I definatly think its time for new weights for me im at 3 lbs still and can do alot of reps with those. gyms cost to much so im stuck at home.

      Oh definitely! A set of 10lb free weights is far more affordable than a gym membership. Time to ditch those 3lb wts – your purse probably weighs more!
