This is my Mamavation post for Monday, August 16, 2010.
Hey everyone!
Guess what? I’ve officially entered the third trimester!!! I can’t believe that in 9-12 weeks (my first two were early) I’ll be the mom of THREE kids!! Holy smokes! Where has this year gone?
I’ve had a busy week, but have managed to stay active and log 13 more km’s towards my goal of 500 km by the time this kiddo is born. I’m now at 421 km – on track to reach my goal! Yay! My eating is starting to really get wonky ’cause I’m so HUNGRY!! I need to make sure I load up more fruits and veggies in the fridge, and make sure I bring a pile to work with me – that way I won’t be tempted by the endless supply of cakes, cookies etc… that always seems to be present.
On Thursday I had my first 3rd trimester midwife appointment – everything is going well, my belly is measuring 28 wks, my blood pressure is back up a bit (this is nice because it was super low 84/56), and she took a blood sample to test my iron levels. I’ve been tired lately and we’re not sure if it’s the exercise, low iron, or just 3rd trimester fatigue.
Here’s what I managed to fit in this week:
Monday: I attended a communications course, so I missed my regular Boot Camp fitness class, so instead I ran 4k.
Tuesday: Ran 5k.
Wednesday: Work out with my awesome trainer at lunch
Thursday: No workout because I had my first 3rd Trimester midwife appointment!
Friday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout – my arms were killing me on Saturday morning! (walked 4k)
Saturday: Rest day
Sunday: Super hot day so I spent an hour swimming with the kids and pretending to be a “shark”.
This week I’ll cut out the running – it’s hurting my symphysis pubis (pelvis) way too much, so instead I’ll do my Walk and Tone mp3 three times, and workout with my trainer twice.
Have a great week everyone!!
PS – Congrats to Kimberly of Christlikemommy (aka @christlikemommy) on being Mamavation Sista of the Week!!

great job at doing all that workouts I need to create a schedule but i do have a busy weekend coming up so that will help
Have a great weekend Lorrie, and thanks for stopping by!
What an inspiration! I haven’t logged even 1km this year (sad I know, but I really hate running) let alone 421!! I am going to set a goal for myself to run/walk a set amount by December 31st. Haven’t figured out yet what is reachable for me, but I’ll put it in my Mamavation post on Monday
Good luck reaching your 500 goal and kudos to keeping up with the workouts while pregnant.

I really like how even though you attended a communcations course and missed you regular boot camp fitness calss, you still ran 4kms. That is excellent.
I find that a lot of people I know will ditch exercise the minutes something else comes up.

How exciting! That baby is going to be a serious acrobat. Already going through gymnastics in mommy’s belly. LOL. I can’t wait to see photos of this little one!
I’m interested in learning what kind of things you’re being taught in your communications course. Do tell!

You are such an inspiration, Janice! Your fatigue may be a combo of all three things. And the hunger? I remember being ravenous in the 3rd trimester and I wasn’t working out. Now, I get ravenous after a good workout & I’m not preggers. Can’t imagine how much more hungry you are!
Hope all continues to go well with the bambino!

Many props for continuing to excercise while you are pregnant. The 3rd trimester only gets more challenging toward the end. Hopefully this will give you more energy towards the end!

You are such an inspiration to me! The only exercise I did during my pregnancy was lifting fork to mouth and here you are running at 28 weeks. Wow, that’s all I can say! Wow!

It’s so great that you’ve been able to keep exercising! I was on bedrest for five months during my pregnancy and couldn’t do anything at all! I’m hoping for better luck next time around because I think it’s so healthy to keep moving like you’re doing. I hope your last few months go well and you keep feeling great!
