This is my Mamavation post for Monday, March 21, 2011.
Hey everyone!
How was your week last week? Did your drink your water? Get your beauty sleep? And eat your 7-8 servings of fruits and veggies? (Remember: fruit and veggies are chock full of fiber!).
This week was March Break (aka Spring Break) for my oldest daughter, Sierra. This means that not only was my mommy/baby bootcamp class cancelled, but I also had to find ways to entertain both her and her sister, Brooke. My kids are like energizer bunnies – they need to stay active otherwise they start fighting. Thankfully I caught a weather break – it was warm enough to go outside! Yay! Sure it was a wee bit muddy out, but I explained to my girls that getting muddy is a sign that you’re having FUN!
This week was all about being a POSITIVE ROLE MODEL! I bought Sierra a new bike because she was in desperate need of one. (Kids grow so fast!). Instead of me motivating her, she motivated ME!
Mommy, can I ride my bike? Mommy, can we go for a run?
She rode, I ran… for a total of 17k last week! We also went for a muddy trip to the park, where I did my bootcamp workout, and we shot this vlog for you where Brooke demonstrates the exercises I do in my workouts:
So here’s a summary of what I we did this past week:
Monday: Ran 4.32K – Sierra rode her bike and I pushed Brooke and Amber in the double jogging stroller
Tuesday: Ran 3.6K – Sierra rode her bike while I pushed Amber in the single jogging stroller
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: Ran 4.2K- Sierra rode her bike while I pushed Amber in the single jogging stroller
Friday: Went to the park with the kids and did a 45min Nike Training Club Workout
Saturday: Ran 5.5K ALONE!!!
Sunday: Rest/play with the kids ![]()

Love that she motivated you this week! I’ll take inspiration wherever I can get it

Thanks for the running tip! I am a big mess when it comes to trying to run.
Ugh. I am a type A mom and now need to go clothing shopping for mud-worthy play clothes. Luckily we have a good resale shop for kiddos and I have a ton of credit there after cleaning out our closets. I think I see mud in my future, too.
I am so amazed with your running! Really, I am. I push my kiddos in the stroller, but typically walk and then run in short bursts. I would love to borrow your lungs and legs for a run. Would you mind? Lol.
Have a great week! Keep up all the great movement.

Great fitness buddy! Have a wonderful week Janice. You look like you are doing amazing.
Props to you for running. I’m not a runner (yet anyway). I love that you get your kids involved. My youngest son is 7 and he is forever teaching me the “right” way to do things.
Hi Janice, it’s so nice that you are enjoying with your kids and you get fit at the same time
Mommies out there can stop whining about how their kids can become such little riots and convert the energy they have spent in playing with their kids. This is such a nice post!
