Three of the Best Health & Fitness Posts I’ve Read This Week

guestpost Three of the Best Health & Fitness Posts I’ve Read This WeekWednesdays are supposed to be a featured post from a special guest (at least that’s what I’ve planned out in my post schedule).  A post from someone with health or fitness advice, or a success story, or simply a story about their fitness struggles. However, despite begging and pleading with some of my dear internet friends to guest post, this week I came up empty handed.  A few never responded to my twitter dm’s and some promised but didn’t carry out their promise – maybe they’re too busy being healthy and fit to write up a guest post?  Either way, today you’re stuck with me, so instead of featuring a guest post today, I’m going to offer a round up of three of the best health and fitness related blog posts I’ve read this week:

  1. The first post is from my dear internet pal T3RRY.  T3rry is truly after my heart because he persevered and ran in his underwear yesterday as he forgot some of his running gear.  (In case you didn’t know, I run a 10K race annually in my underwear to raise money for Colon, Prostate, Cervical and Uterine Cancer).
  2. The second post is from my twitter friend Lisa Johnson.  Lisa has a great post about how you can lose 5lbs RIGHT NOW!  It’s a brutally honest post – skip the fancy diets and workout kind of post.  So go on and read it.
  3. The third post is from another Lisa (aka Workout Mommy).  Like T3rry, Lisa also persevered and managed to get her run in.  Only her obstacle was not lack of clothing, hers was something we all can relate to: the trials and tribulations of parenting.

Have you ran across any great fitness posts this week?  If so, why don’t you share them with me in the comments?

PS – check out my Guest Post Guidelines if you would like to be my guest blogger next week

Fitness Tip of The Day

Try the periodization technique which progress you every week over a 4-week timeframe. Try a plan of starting with lighter weights and more reps, and each week increasing the weight size appropriately and decreasing the number of reps.
