Hey everyone! I have a challenge for you! This challenge will run for the next 4 weeks, with a winner each week! (Though everyone who participates will be a winner in my eyes).
The inspiration for this Healthy Challenge comes from my work. At work, every day we track how many servings of fruits and veggies that we eat. At the end of the week we tally how many of the seven days (yes, even the weekends) that we were able to meet the Health Canada/USDA recommended # of fruit and veggie servings. The women need to eat 7-8 servings/day and the men need to eat 8-10 servings/day. Simple right?
We’ve been running the challenge at work for two weeks now and I can’t believe what a difference proper nutrition makes!! I’ve lost 5 lbs in two weeks! Yes, I work out too – but I’ve been doing that since January without the same results. Two weeks ago I strained my calf muscle. Normally a muscle strain takes 7-10 days to fully heal, but with all of the healthy eating I’ve been doing my calf healed in 5 days! Then, this past week I ran a 6k with a pace appx. 40sec faster/km than I’ve ran in yrs! I trained hard this past week and have recovered far better and faster from each run than I have ever recovered before. You know why? Because I was eating my fruits and veggies!
I want to challenge YOU to do the same!
How many times can YOU eat your servings of fruit and veggies?
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
1. Complete the form below.
2. I’ll send you an email next Monday asking you how many days you were able to eat all 7-8 or 8-10 servings of fruits and veggies (Monday to Sunday). You will have 24 hrs to respond. If you do not respond then I will assume you aren’t participating.
PRIZES:
1 winner each week will receive a Fitness Cheerleader SIGG water bottle like the one pictured below:
If there is a tie I will contact the people who are tied to obtain their number choice between 1 and 100. I will then use random.org to randomly generate a number between 1 and 100. Who ever is closest wins (it won’t matter if they go over).
PS – Here’s a link to what a typical serving size is: http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/fn-an/food-guide-aliment/choose-choix/fruit/serving-portion-eng.php
