The Four Hottest Things Going on in FitBlog Land

The past few weeks have been very busy in the health & fitness online world. Or maybe I’ve just been MIA lately due to ze new bambino? Either way, there’s some super exciting stuff going on! These things that have really gotten me excited to be part of this fantastic community.

So, Janice, spill the beans… What’s all this exciting stuff you speak of?

  1. First there’s the announcement of the Fitness & Health Bloggers Conference, June 24-26, 2011 in Boulder, Colorado.  It looks like a great event , organized by Montana-based Zephyr Adventures. Zephyr runs active hiking, biking, and multisport tours around the world, and they run an active beer tour in the area of Yellowstone National Park.  (Active beer run?  You mean hashing? On On my friends! Count me in on that!).

Fit baby and I REALLY want to go to the conference!  It would be great to meet all of our fabulously talented fitness blogger friends like Leah, the chief blogger for the conference, and all of our mamavation friends.  Will you come too so we can meet?

We’re actively seeking sponsorship – perhaps from a post-natal fitness product? We would love to chronicle our post-partum progress for your product…(hint… hint…).
  2. Starting Monday, November 15, 2010, Stephanie of Fit Mom in Training and Rita of Fit Blogger will be working through the ProBlogger eBook 31 Days to Build a Better Blog with myself and other Fit Bloggers. They have started a Fit Blogger community on Blog Frog so we can work through the daily challenges together – I’ll be participating because now that I’m on maternity leave for a year I want to begin writing more personal and engaging content for you.  I’ve been writing magazine style articles, but now want to bring more of my personality into my writing.  Stephanie explains how to join us in her blog post “31 days to a Better Blog“.
  3. #Fitblog Chats#fitblog chat is every Tuesday night on Twitter at 9pm (tonight)!  And now there’s a website dedicated to #fitblog chat, called… drumroll please… FITBLOG CHATS! It has an awesome LIVE application  to follow the chat that you can find at: http://chats.fitblogchats.com. Each Tuesday night the chat focuses on the hot topics facing the fitness and healthy living community that week. All you need is a Twitter account and a voice. The chat is 60 minutes of awesome discussion and amazing networking.  I totally love how the chat inspires blog posts and ideas – I have so many that now I’m using an editorial calendar to plan my posts :)  I’ll be there tonight, my tweeting may be hit or miss because the beautiful young Amber likes to cluster feed all evening, but Ill try my best to keep up.  I look forward to chatting with you!

  4. MemberOh how can I forget the launch of the FABULOUS FitBlogger Community site? Rita Barry has worked super hard to build a place for us to brag about our awesome blog posts, to support each other and to meet other Fitness Bloggers.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the site!  There are so many great posts and blogs featured!  It’s my go to site first thing every morning – yanno, when I’m nursing baby Amber and shaking the sleep out of my head :)

So yeah – those are the 4 hottest things going on in Fitblog Land lately – have you encountered any thing I missed? If so, let me know in the comments!

All the best in health and fitness,
