Mamavation Monday

I hope everyone had a great week last week! I’m getting bigger and staying active is getting so much HARDER!!! My lower back and hips are aching all the same now and I’ve been ridiculously tired :( I suspect that my iron levels are becoming low again, so on Thursday I went to the health food and purchased more of the liquid iron I add to my morning juice (Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron). Yep – that’s just another reason to drink some yummy juice!

Despite feeling crummy, I stayed active all week – In summary, here’s what I did:

Monday: 5K Walk with my neighbour
Tuesday: 5K run around the park on my lunch (4min run/1 min walk)
Wednesday: Boot Camp work out with my awesome trainer at lunch
Thursday: 20 min of swimming
Friday: 5K walk/run around the park on my lunch (4min run/1 min walk)
Saturday: Rest day
Sunday: Rest day

I really really think my running days are becoming numbered… But thats ok because this weekend I recorded a 39 min Walk and Tone mp3 that I imported into my iTunes library that leads me through a muscular endurance arm routine while I walk. Combining strength moves with cardio is a great way to burn more calories in a single workout session. Also, building strength and muscle burns more calories at rest! I set my mp3 to dance hits of the 90′s – in the future I hope to set it to some more current dance music.

OK – now that I got that housekeeping out of the way… here’s my plan for next week:

Monday: I have a course to attend, so I’ll have to miss my regular Boot Camp fitness class, so instead I’ll try to run, or do my Walk and Tone mp3.
Tuesday: Try to run, or do my Walk and Tone mp3.
Wednesday: Work out with my awesome trainer at lunch
Thursday: No workout because I have my first 3rd Trimester midwife appointment!
Friday: Try to run, or do my Walk and Tone mp3.
Saturday: Rest day
Sunday: Kick the family out of the house so I can spend 2-3 hours cleaning…

    Looks like you had a pretty active week! Hope your feeling better this week and, that the iron helps.
    I wanted to thank you for the notes on Dailymile. I have been super slacking on updating it. I wish everything I needed to update was all on one page. lol. I’m trying to setup some times to where I sit down and update it. My 5k is this Saturday. I am super nervous but, have come to the realization that I need to be a little less hard on myself. I’m just pushing to finish it with out stopping to walk.

  8. That is great that you are staying so active! good luck kicking the family out so you can clean! I feel like a tornado follows behind me as I clean! and i have no idea how 2 people can produce so much dirty laundry! it is never ending!

  9. Way to turn all that time spent into a product! That’s fantastic! You may want to specify if it has voice commands for what you should be doing with your arms or whatnot. Just so newbies and people who don’t know obvious stuff like that will, you know, know. Yeah, I’m not sure that makes sense, sorry. But congrats on staying active even with your hips hurting. I went to a chiro while pregnant when the hip pain got too severe. It was definitely a breath of fresh air and some relief.

    How long were you able to actively run with your last pregnancies? My midwife made me stop at 26 weeks so I simply transitioned to the pool. I know that option is hard for you since the pool is less convenient. I am looking forward to seeing what your solution is to stay active and adapt with your pregnancy. I’m sure it is going to be good.
