If We Were Having Coffee… #UltimateCoffeeDate

Wish You Were Here mugs

Today is the first Saturday of the month which means that today is the Ultimate Coffee Date, so I'm linking up with Lynda, Coco and Deborah to share with you what I would share with you if you and were sitting down and having a coffee together.  We'd share a coffee in my "Wish You Were Here" coffee mugs that I collect from Starbuck's.  Every time my husband goes on a business trip he brings me home a mug.  My favourites are the ones from where I would LOVE to run a major marathon. If we were having coffee... I continue reading →

Friday Five: 5 Runfessions

Today I'm linking up with Marcia's Healthy Slice for the January Runfessions linkup, because keeping things bottled in drives me crazy and confessions are good for the soul, right? Runfession #1Since upping my iron intake I’m beginning to run into a problem with turtles. No, not the cute little turtles that live in a shell. The other kind. If you’re a runner you may know the kind I’m talking about. Yanno, the ones that poke their head out in the first few km’s of a run forcing you to slow down because of how uncomfortable they are giving continue reading →

Thursday Thoughts: Things I Think About While Running

While I was freezing my butt off in the dark chasing the tails of my two fast mommy running friends at 6 am, I had a few random thoughts that I thought I would share with you. I was running without music because I was supposed to be running with my friends, but truthfully I couldn’t keep up with them, so I couldn’t hear anything they were talking about. I didn’t mind though because one thing I love about running is being alone with my thoughts, even if they are incredibly mundane and boring. I kind of like that the only things I have to think continue reading →

Taking a Look Back on 2014

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday filled with family, fun and cheer.  Today I have a brief recap of my holiday festivities, a little year in review plus a linkup for you to SHARE YOUR year in review posts. My Christmas was fantastic. This was the first Christmas without having a super young one at home that was over-tired and whiny but refusing to nap mid-afternoon.  Amber is well past the nap phase and it is incredible!  I was able to enjoy the day and spend it talking to the adults, and playing various continue reading →

A Few Random Thoughts on Waking Up Early

Yesterday I read a blog post that one of my new favourite Canadian bloggers, Pretty Little Grub, wrote as part of Running with Spoon's Thursday are for Thinking Out Loud link up. I really liked her post, and the concept of rambling on about the random thoughts that pop into my head seems pretty easy, so I figured I'd play along too. Unfortunately by the time I finished putting together the end of year Teacher appreciation gifts, it was too late to write so I drafted this this morning instead. A day late for Thursday, but as they say, better continue reading →

Enjoying My Morning Coffee

Yesterday, I read a great post about coffee that was complete with pictures of some amazing and inspiring bloggers enjoying their morning Joe. Yes - we love our coffee!! The post screamed MEME to me, so I thought I'd kick start it.... This is me, just about to get my game face on, while enjoying my morning cup of coffee: (Don't ya love my FitBlogger mug?) 11 Random Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Me

10 Things I’m Thankful For

My pal Steph of Fit Mom in Training is posting a list of 10 things for 10 days, so I thought I'd follow along because this is a great way for us all to get to know more about each other. Today I'm starting off with 10 Things I'm Thankful For: My body - it's endured years of my training and running abuse, powering me through several full and half marathons, two triathlons and birthed and nourished three wonderful little girls: My family - I'm thankful for the love and support they give me in all of my endeavours, no matter how continue reading →

10 Reasons Why I Blog

Baby Amber at my recent 5k Race

Today is day 2 in the 10-in-10 series.  Along with Steph I'll be sharing 10 things about me every day for the next 10 days.  Today I'm sharing with you 10 reasons why I blog: (Side note: I started blogging after reading Bridget Jones Diary WAY back in the fall of 2004.) My husband was bored of hearing me talk about running - Seriously. I started blogging to write about my running, and my life to anyone who would listen because my talking never seemed to be heard by my husband over the nattering of the TV. continue reading →

‘Fessing Up and Keepin’ It Real

Laundry Mountain

One of my favourite bloggers, Running Rachel, has asked us to 'Fess Up and Keep it Real every Friday.  Now my original plan was to keep up with Food Friday, but I haven't been able to find the time to type out some of our favourite recipes - Life is just too busy! (I guess that's my first 'Fess Up.) This week I've been lazy - not workout lazy - I've managed to find the time to run twice and got to the gym 3 times, but housework lazy.  Some weeks I'm gung ho on keeping the house CLEAN and TIDY, and other weeks I couldn't continue reading →
