I’m trying to be optimistic that this will heal with enough time for me to get a few last weeks of training in before the half-marathon on May 16th. I’ve put a lot into this training and it would be a shame to have to put this race aside and focus onto a new one, especially since the Spring half-marathon season is short and there are few other races to choose from.
All of this has me wondering – what should I do? What would YOU do?
Do you hate being injured as much as I do? What do you do to cope? Do you go in complete rest mode, or do you stay active – doing other activities until your injury heals? Would you find a new goal (or goal race)? How do you stay positive? I’d love to hear your words of wisdom and advice!

well I have had a couple times when I have felt like I have an injury or start of one…I dont work out like you do, but I have tried to take it easier during those times…I would still work out focusing on stretching the sore area and working others.
Good luck….hope it doesnt last too long…if it is still sore after a week I would ask the opinion of a doctor.
Oh no, an injury…r u ok?? I hope it heals quickly for u.
You had PF before? How long does it take to heal?
Take it easy on ur heal. Wishing u a speedy recovery.
Well, first of all good luck with your recovery!
Injuries… yeah, every runner sometimes has to deal with it. I found it especially ‘painful’ just after finishing a marathon race.
I try to:

- accept at first
- stay positive
- set some recovery goals / milestones
- go outside for a walk, biking or anything else that doesn’t make it worse
- and everything else that helps me to get back on track
