6:50 am – a soft kiss on my forehead wakes me up. “Mommy… Daddy said to wake you up”. It’s time for my busy day to begin. I open one eye to see which of my three little women was given the not-so-nice task of trying to wake mama bear from her slumber. 9 times out of 10 it’s Sierra. She’s my oldest – my early bird. Born a month early, and has woken up early ever since.
7:00 am – after playing possum in my warm bed, or cuddling with one of my daughters, I roll groggily out of bed. Job #1 is to get myself caffeinated.
7:10 am – I start asking the girls what they want for breakfast.
7:15 am – Kiss hubby goodbye (he takes the train in to Toronto for work).
7:17 am – I start screaming at the girls to find out what they want for breakfast.
7:20 am – I give up and make myself breakfast and sit down to enjoy it.
7:30 am – the kids start complaining that their tummies hurt and that they are sooooooooo hungry and oh-my-goodness-if-I-don’t-get-food-NOW-I-am-going-to-die!
7:35 am – everyone is happily chomping away at their breakfasts.
7:40 am – I pick out the girls clothes for school and bring their outfits down to the living room for them to get dressed.
7:45 am – Mommmmmy! I can’t wear THAT! I then pick out three more outfits.
7:55 am – all kids are dressed. They then sit on the couches with their iPads while I find clothes for myself brush my teeth, and hair, find my workout clothes for my lunch workout.
8:00 am – Time for me to start yelling at people to get their socks and shoes on (the job that they were supposed to be doing while I was getting dressed),
8:10 am – we leave the house after like dominoes, each kid has had an epic meltdown over something really trivial. (I can’t find my plastic piece of junk that I promised so-and-so that I would bring).
8:20 am – drop the big girls off at school.
8:30 am – drop Amber (my youngest) off at daycare.
8:35 am – begin my 40 min CRAWL to work.
9:10 am – arrive at work. First stop – Tim Horton’s for my second and last coffee of the day.
9:15 am – log onto my computer and start working.
11:00 am – snack time! (I usually eat an apple as my mid-morning snack)
12:00 pm – Runch time!
1:00 pm – back at my desk to inhale some lunch while I work. Lately I’ve been eating a salad that I prepared on the weekend:
2:00 pm – client meeting.
5:00 pm – time to fight traffic home.
5:45 pm – pick up miss Amber.
6:00 pm – arrive home, greet hubby who has picked up the big girls from their after-school care program, hug the big girls and begin cooking dinner.
6:35 pm – dinner time!
7:00 pm – swimming, skating or homework time! The girls swim on Monday nights, and have skating lessons on Wednesday nights. The other nights we do homework.
8:00 pm – bath time! I often take a bath or shower with Miss Amber. Then we all brush our teeth.
8:30 pm – home reading time. I sit and help Brooke do her home reading, or read to Amber (hubby and I take turns – he takes one kid, I take the other). Sierra reads her chapter book on her own.
8:45 pm – warm milk time. the girls love to drink warm milk before bed.
8:50 pm – begin last hugs, tuck the kids in.
9:00 pm – collapse onto the couch to re-design a blog, read blogs, write a blog post, or mindlessly stalk people on Facebook.
10:30 pm – my bedtime.
YAWN!!!! It’s 10:44 pm now – so I’m gonna sign off. I hope you enjoyed reading about my crazy hectic days!
