Hey Janice, what supplements should I take? I get asked this question all the time by curious friends and acquintances. I want to start off by saying that this is not a post to suggest that you use any of the supplements or brands that I use. Instead this is simply a list of the supplements *I* use, and why *I’m* using them. This is not sponsored in any way, and none of the products I use have been sent to me by brands asking me to take them or to review them. This is a straight up list of products I have personally chosen for myself to use CONTINUE READING →

A Day in the Life of a Working Mom of 3, a Triathlete and a Blogger

A Day in the Life of a Working Mom of 3, a Triathlete and a Blogger

As fitness bloggers, we're asked what a typical day is like - how doe we fit it all in?  So I've teamed up with Moms Little Running Buddy, and many other fitness bloggers today to answer that question.   I'm also asked often how I fit in triathlon and marathon training while being a working mom of 3 active little girls. I gotta admit it’s not easy, and sometimes I question why I try to do everything. Then I’ll read yet another research paper on the benefits of living active and I’m reminded that what I do now will have a CONTINUE READING →

Thursday Thoughts: Things I Think About While Running

IMG_0001.JPG

While I was freezing my butt off in the dark chasing the tails of my two fast mommy running friends at 6 am, I had a few random thoughts that I thought I would share with you. I was running without music because I was supposed to be running with my friends, but truthfully I couldn’t keep up with them, so I couldn’t hear anything they were talking about. I didn’t mind though because one thing I love about running is being alone with my thoughts, even if they are incredibly mundane and boring. I kind of like that the only things I have to think CONTINUE READING →

Become A Stronger Runner with Kettlebells

Become a faster runner with kettlebells

Oh how I love my kettlebell!  If there is any ONE thing you should invest in to become a stronger runner I'm going to tell you it's a kettlebell. Kettlebells are weighted balls/bells with a handle that you can swing, lift and curl with for a fantastic strength training workout.  I got mine for about $35 at SportChek, but you can find these pretty much anywhere nowadays.  I've even seen them at Canadian Tire, WalMart, and Target in the fitness section, or you can order them online from Amazon.  You can even buy some CONTINUE READING →

How to Detoxify Your Water, a Review of Adya Clarity

Adya Clarity review

Did you know that despite being considered “safe” to drink, your drinking water may not be completely free of toxins? Municipalities are required to meet minimum standards for water safety which varies from state to state and province to province. While the water you get from your tap may have met those minimum standards at the source, the water could have become polluted with toxins in the pipes of your home.
